Course Description
This is an online live activity. After examination of gaps in nurse leadership development, the participant will develop strategies for engaging and developing the next generation of nurse leaders. This activity involves lecture, pre– and post- activity assessments, discussion, case studies and a course evaluation. CE credit may be earned for one or both sessions.

Our Speaker

Catherine J. Mohammed PhD, MPhil, MN, RN, CNE
Has over 35 years of progressive practice and academic leadership in various acute care settings with the clinical specialties of cardiac and critical care. Her current academic experience has expanded over the past 14 years from that of full-time faculty to campus leadership positions to national roles overseeing regional campuses’ academic success. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Nursing, with a minor in Psychology from St. Catherine’s University, her Masters in Nursing Administration from the University of Phoenix, San Diego Campus, and her PhD in Public Policy and Administration-Health Services through Walden University. Catherine conducted a phe- nomenology study on nursing leadership-her passion. She prides herself in the development of others’ talents and skills; being able to see them at their best of their future potential. Her research and publication areas of interest and expertise are in the education of leadership, transition to practice, healthy work environments, team building, and reaching our next generation! She is also greatly involved in professional organizations such as NLN, AZ League for Nursing (current President), Sigma (Chi-at-large; Phi Pi, and Phi Gamma Chapters), the AZ and CA Organizations for Nurse Leaders, and AACN.
