Welcome Omicron Delta Members!

.

I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for your continued support, dedication, and involvement throughout the year. Your contributions have made this year truly special, and we are so thankful to have you as part of our Omicron Delta family.
.
I especially want to thank the Omicron Delta board members, including our Chapter Manager, for their unending devotion to the Chapter and its continued success. Without their talent, teamwork, and tenacity, we wouldn’t be looking back on such a successful year. Working with them this year has been a privilege in more ways than one, and I am so grateful for all of their hard work.
.
Thank you for being such an important part of Omicron Delta. We look forward to all that we will accomplish together in the year ahead.
.

With much Love, Courage and Honor...

Chapter Election is Open...

May 30 - June 5, 2026

Help make a difference in the future of your Chapter!

This year's open positions are President (2 year term), Vice President (1 year term), Treasurer (2 year term), Counselor (2 year term), and Leadership Succession Committee member (2 year term).
.
One of the most rewarding ways a member can be involved with the chapter is by becoming an officer or member of the Board of Directors.  Having a direct impact on guiding the chapter and interacting with members is a fantastic experience.  The first step in the chapter election process is filling the ballot with members who are looking to get more involved in the chapter and Sigma leadership. We thank those who have chosen to take this step.

Detailed job descriptions may be found here if you have any questions:  LEADERSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

NOTE: Board members must be active members of Sigma Theta Tau and Omicron Delta.

Omicron Delta on the Scene

Jay Larrosa, spoke at the AACN NTI Conference in San Diego...

Congratulations and Thank you Jay!

At Sigma's booth during the AACN NTI Conference in San Diego on May 19–20, 2026, attendees participated in mini presentations offered throughout exhibition hours. Sigma interim Chief Nursing Officer Jennifer Bodine, Sigma's United Nations youth representative Amy Staley, and Sigma member and Omicron Delta Chapter Secretary Jay Larrosa were the speakers for the presentations. Jay presented on "Beyond Access, Advancing Health Equity Across the Full Continuum of Care." During the presentation, Jay emphasized that health insurance coverage alone does not guarantee health equity and that inequities exist across every stage of care delivery. He also stressed that nurses' decisions can directly shape patient outcomes and encouraged attendees to advocate for equitable care in their daily practice. Jay called on nurses to consider patients' social drivers of health and other life factors that may affect clinical outcomes. The presentation aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3, Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages as well as Sustainable Development Goal 16, Promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies.
